The Rotary Club of LaPlace is a group of community and business leaders from St. John the Baptist Parish Louisiana who work to support Rotary International and the many worthy causes in our local community. Our local club was founded in January 1976 and over the years we have supported many local education, quality of life, community development, environmental and civic initiatives. Our signature fund raising event is the annual Pups in the Park on 51 charity dog walk, which has allowed us to raise thousands of dollars to support for animal-related charities and initiatives in our local community. We also have many other programs including scholarships for college-bound students, helping local senior citizens and others in need, educational programs and more.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.
