The Rotary Club of St. John the Baptist Parish President Ronny Michel presented a check in the amount of $500.00 to the St. John United Way Executive Director Dolores Montz for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at the March 26, 2024, Rotary Meeting. The Rotary International District 6840 contributed a grant from the Rotary Foundation along with the Rotary Club of St. John the Baptist contribution for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The Rotary International District 6840 Grant and the Rotary Club of St. John the Baptist contributions provides funding to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in St. John The Baptist Parish. The funding supports 60 recipients of monthly books to pre-school children between the ages of birth to 5 years old. The intent is for parents to read the books to their children and develop the child's love of reading and parental bonding. The Rotary Club of St. John the Baptist Parish Rotarians solicit parents to sign their children up for the program by distributing the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Brochures in their place of business and by daily contacts. This basic education and literacy project beneficiaries are the pre-school children and their parents that establishes the early love of reading in the children. Thank you to the Rotary International District 6840 and the Rotary Club of St. John the Baptist Parish for this year's funding!
