Comfort for Learning

The Comfort for Learning Project was started three years ago as a result of a conversation with a teacher.  The teacher indicated that when the weather turned cool in the fall, many of her students did not have warm clothes and were having trouble studying because they were cold.  The Rotary Club of LaPlace decided to pick one elementary school each year and provide school sweatshirts to the 3rd and 4th graders in that school in the fall as the temperatures became cooler.  This year additional funding was provided by a grant from Rotary District 6840 to allow expansion to 2 schools supplied with sweatshirts.
